While calculating the total time, we often ignore the propagation delay.
The reason is in packet switching, transmission delay dominates over propagation delay.
This is because each packet is transmitted over the link at each hop.

actually virtual circuit switching combines the power of both packet switching and circuit switching .
(similar to datagram ckt packet switching and virtual packet switching resp.)

okay got it . yes there are two types in packet switching (virtual and datagram). I think because of small msgs only but not sure now!
